Brand new meditation (Chakra Meditation)

This week, I would like to share with you one of my newest meditation for chakra balancing and healing. If you are already on a spiritual path, you may have come across the term ‘Chakras’ and why it’s important to know about them. If not, have a little read.

What are chakras?

The word chakra comes from an ancient Indian Sanskrit, and means spinning wheel of energy. These vortices of energy interact with your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual body to create harmony. For a healthy soul you need healthy chakras, just as for a healthy body, you need healthy organs. One interacts with the other on a deeper level.

The chakras are like rainbow-coloured dots stretched horizontally along the spine (see the image below). The chakras distribute energy throughout your body. Although they are invisible to most of us, some people can see them. There are people with the ability to perceive the world beyond their five senses, such as healers or shamans.

You too can awaken this ability, if you’re open to it. All of us can sense energy around us and easily pick on vibes from others. If you can do this, you’re able to sense chakras. We’re all powerful souls with many fantastic gifts and abilities yet to be discovered. Chakra colours are fluid and changing as your emotions change and they can become muddy and faced. The colours of the chakras indicate your current state (physical, mental, emotional, spiritual).

The above information I’ve given you is just a very brief overview to get you started. There has been many books and articles written about chakras, and I strongly encourage you to research them. I dedicated a whole chapter to Chakras in my book Mystic Butterfly ~a guide to your true selfOf course, if you are new to spirituality or my work and have any questions related to chakras, please don’t hesitate to contact me and I’ll be happy to give you some further guidance.

In the meantime, have a listen to the meditation below. Find a comfortable place where you are not going to be disturbed for a few minutes, sit down, close your eyes and let my voice be your guide.

Are you letting the wrong people take up space in your mind?

A couple of weeks ago, I was thinking how to inspire my beautiful community on social media. A lovely idea came to my mind within a few minutes. I immediately created a beautiful collage and was ready to share it on social media. Then, suddenly, a particular person came to my mind, which I believed ‘would raise their eyebrows’ at my post and would think: There we go again. Another one of Jana’s inspiring, self-help stuff.”

Within minutes, I began doubting myself and questioning the inspiring message I was so excited about just a minute ago. I decided not to post it. An hour went by and I thought: Isn’t that interesting? Why do we care so much about other’s opinions in a way we begin to doubt our creativity, ourselves?

In the end, I posted my inspiring message anyway and let the self-doubt fade away. And I also learned a lesson from this. It made me realise how much power I’m still wasting, by worrying what other people think of me, people who don’t really know me, my story and how hard I worked and I’m still working and how tired I am of seeking their approval.

So why do we do this to ourselves? Why do we strive to be so likeable and giving these people who don’t really matter so much of our precious energy? It’s because we have been programmed this way. There are rules we need to follow, certain standards to live by, success to strive for. And now, with the internet and especially social media, we feel even more pressure because we compare ourselves to others and what we believe their lives look like. Personally, I love social media, but unfortunately, the comparison that comes with it is doing more harm than good.

Do what feels right for you

Do what pleases you and forget about the rest. Easier said, then done, hmmmm? I know. But listen: Do you want to be always someone’s prisoner, always worry or obsess what they think? Of course not. Focus on you and do what makes you feel good and fulfils you. Leave their opinions and criticism to themselves.

And the truth is: they don’t really think about you, but are busy living their own lives

The amount of time and space we give others in our minds is absolutely crazy and completely unnecessary. Do yourself a favour and stop it at once. Everyone is living their own life, focusing, mainly, on themselves and their own things. They have their own worries, struggles and fears and are not really thinking about you and what you are up to. They are focused on their own lives.

Become more present

Being fully present prevents your mind from wandering to places that disempower you. Be aware of this and every time your thoughts start flying to places you don’t want to go, stop and ask yourself: Where am I? And of course, you know the answer, you are right here, right now at this moment. And this is the only place where the true life exists.

Bring more peace & harmony into your life by one simple meditation a day

Meditation is a beautiful practice that has changed my life in so many amazing ways. This is the reason I often talk about it and promote it wherever I go.

Many people say that they don’t have time for meditation or they simply don’t know how to meditate. In my opinion, we should stop thinking too much about it, drop the excuses and just give it a go. The most beautiful thing about meditation is that it can start with one simple, conscious breath.

What meditation is, it is simply being fully focused on the present moment, which is the only place where the true life exists. Past is not here anymore and there is nothing which can be changed about it. Only your approach towards the past can be changed. And the future? Your future is always being shaped by the choice you are making in the present moment. So where does your power lie? Right here, right now.

So would you like to bring more peace and harmony into your life you’ve been longing for quite a while now? I believe I can help.

Begin slowly and gently

Find a comfortable place where you are not going to be disturbed for at least 5 minutes. That’s right, just five minutes. That’s all that you need. You can sit down or you can even lie down. Listen to your body. Gently close your eyes to avoid any visual distraction. When you feel settled, start taking deep, slow breaths. Inhale and exhale at your own pace. You can also inhale through your nose and exhale out through your mouth if this is comfortable for you.

Now, let’s add some visualisation to your meditation

On your next inhalation, visualise, you are breathing in pure white light. This light represents all the positive energy and the goodness this Universe has to offer. When you exhale, visualise you are breathing out everything that is no longer serving you. This can include any worries, any fears and anything you are willing and ready to let go of. Now, visualise these as clouds of darkness’ travelling far, far away to the distance. Trust and know in your heart that they won’t return back to you. Repeat this cycle of breathing with the visualisation for at least 3-5 rounds.

Coming out of your meditation

Continue to breathe slowly and deeply at your own pace. When you are ready, slowly become aware of your body, of your surrounding, you can stretch a bit if you like, and in your own time open your eyes.

What’s next…

So, this is a simple meditation for beginners, you can practice almost anywhere if you only find about 5 minutes or so. I believe anyone can invest just 5 minutes of their 24 hour day. With regular practice, you can begin to experience many incredible benefits that can serve your mind, body and soul on a deeper level.

Guided Meditations

If I could talk to my younger self, these are the 7 things I would tell her…

When I was younger, I lived in so much worry and fear. I worried about everything. What other people thought of me, whether I said the right thing or whether I presented myself the right way. Other people’s opinions were so important to me that they were controlling my life in a great way.

When we are very young we have a completely different outlook on life. This outlook can be somehow overwhelming. This was certainly the case for me. But, if I ever had the opportunity to talk to my younger self, there are so many things I would tell her. I would give her so much love, support and reassurance that there is nothing to worry about, only things to experience and lessons to learn from.

If you could talk to your younger self, what would you tell him or her? What words would you use to encourage them and make them feel better when they feel scared? What would you say to them to calm them down? Please share your thoughts in the comments below. You never know who may read them and they can even save someone’s life.

I believe this is a very important topic to talk about. The younger generation can sometimes feel so overwhelmed about life in general, and can definitely benefit and learn from our mistakes, that’s why is important to talk about them. Listed below are a few of the things I would definitely say to that scared young girl I used to be if I had the opportunity.

1) Don’t worry what other people think of you

Others are so busy thinking about themselves and not about you. When we are younger, we think the opposite. Remember, the most important thing is what you think about you.

2) Be yourself

You are unique. There has never been anybody like you and there is never going to be. Embrace all that is you and celebrate your beautiful individuality.

3) Your past mistakes are powerful lessons

When I used to make mistakes, I would beat myself up for them for ages. Look at your mistakes as powerful lessons which needed to be learnt to help you become the person you want to become.

4) Put yourself first, always

Always follow your dreams. Don’t postpone, don’t procrastinate, don’t get influenced by other’s opinions. When I was younger, I was always searching for romantic love. When I was in a relationship, that other person would become my priority. I would put all my dreams and needs aside, and would only focus on the person I was ‘so in love with’. There was a huge price to pay for that. I was never happy, because I stopped focusing on me and my dreams. Later, I realised, I am the most important person in my own life and I will always be. I began putting myself first. This wasn’t selfish, but an act of self-love and respect towards myself. Put yourself first, always.

5) Listen to your intuition

When I was a child, my intuition was very strong and I fully trusted it. As I got older I stopped listening to it and began to doubt it. Luckily, I realised how important and valuable my intuition is. Always listen to your inner wisdom, it will never fail you.

6) Don’t take life so seriously

When we are young, we take everything so seriously, including the things that don’t really matter. Life doesn’t have to be that serious. The same way seasons of the year change, the seasons of life change too. Go through them gracefully. When something doesn’t work out the way you planned it, trust and know that there is something way better on its way to you.

7) You are good enough, just as you are

You are good enough and you have nothing to prove to anybody. You don’t need to compare yourself to others, dress like others, act like others to be accepted by this society. You are good enough, just as you are. Work on yourself, keep improving, educate yourself, but at the same time know that you are good enough and wonderful as you are.

What has living with anxiety taught me & could help you too

What many of you don’t know about me, is that I used to suffer from severe anxiety. My anxiety was so bad that it was controlling my life in a great way. It was happening during my early to almost late twenties, where my friend’s lives were mostly filled with adventures, parties, holidays and the joys of being carefree young adults. I couldn’t join them. My daily life was filled with dark thoughts, panic attacks, thinking about death and being so frightened, whether and how I would survive another day. Everything was a challenge, even the smallest of tasks. Queuing in a supermarket, going to a library, practically being at any public place was putting me into the states of panic and discomfort. My life was filled with severe stress, depression and perceiving the world with a constant foggy sensation on my mind. Was that a living? Not really. But, now I look at it differently. I look at this experience from a higher perspective. Living with anxiety for more than a while taught me so much about myself, my life and most importantly, because of it, I found my life’s purpose, which is being of service to others.

***Before you read further***

Please note, that this isn’t a medical advice. Always seek a health care professional, who will be happy to assist you with any concerns. However, I always like to share what I have learned from my difficult experiences, and how I shifted my life from darkness to light, with a belief that reading about them will help someone.

So, here is what I’ve learned:

1) Acceptance

When we are trying to push something away and don’t want it in our lives, a great amount of resistance can be felt. It feels overwhelming and can take over our lives, so we are unable to see any kind of light. This is how I dealt with my anxiety. I was resisting it. I didn’t want to be feeling anxious. I was fighting my unpleasant emotions every minute of every day. But one day, after about 4 years of daily struggle to be exact, I experienced a beautiful shift which changed my life forever. I came to a realisation to accept my feelings. It felt like finally seeing a beautiful sunrise after a long, dark winter. Ever since I accepted my feelings my life began to shift. Of course, on a very small scale, but there was an improvement. I realised it was okay to feel how I was feeling at that particular moment in time. I decided to stop obsessing about my physical symptoms, instead, I’ve decided to accept them as part of me. As they were part of me, they didn’t need my judgement, rather my nourishment and my compassion. I began feeling liberated.

2) To find something beautiful in every day

I began noticing the small things in life, the things that we often take for granted. I started being grateful for all the wonderful blessings that surrounded me and decided to find something beautiful in every day. Then, something magical happened. I would be very grateful when something made me happy, even if it was just for 5 minutes. Slowly, minutes turn into hours and hours into days. I remember so clearly when I could say, today was a good day. I will treasure that moment forever and still remember it very clearly.

3) To breathe properly

My breathing used to be shallow, short, panicky and it felt like a difficult task. Living with anxiety taught me to slow down, tune inward and learn how to breathe properly. It taught me to pause several times a day, notice my breathing and how it affected my posture, my energy levels and my overall wellbeing. Daily moments of stillness and meditation also deepened the connection to my breath.

4) To love myself

I learnt to love myself fully. I learnt to love and appreciate myself for who I am. I stopped pretending and trying to accepted by others, instead I fully accepted myself and began to finally love myself. I realised, I am the most important person in my own life, who deserves to be looked after and given a priority too. I learnt that this is not selfish, but it’s an act of self-love and respect I was craving for many years. Now, I love myself fully, even the ‘flaws’ I used to dislike. They are part of me and they make me who I am. I feel free and so much happier.

‘There is no shame in living with anxiety, in fact, let’s talk more about it. Let’s let the other struggling souls out there know that they are not alone, and there is always hope to get through this.’

You are a universal artist. Start using your magical superpower

We are all creative. We are all unique artists painting our future as we travel through the Universe at this time and space. Our existence is beautiful, sometimes challenging, but after all, it’s incredibly exciting. Having a conscious awareness of your real power can bring amazing shifts into your life. Align with this idea and start creating the future that you would like to see, not the one that you fear and resist. Have such clarity of what you would like to create that your fears become irrelevant. Write those visions down, meditate on them, feel good about them, take daily action to bring them into this reality and you are on your way.

Visualise the future you desire

When you visualise, you can travel anywhere you’d like to, even in a matter of seconds. Visualising is a magical art and it can bring all these beautiful things you desire into your life. I’ve always been a daydreamer, so when I began visualising intentionally (focusing on what I really wanted to create),  I found it quite easy. Don’t know where to begin? Listed below are a few simple steps to get you started.

Bring your vision into reality:

1. Close your eyes to avoid any visual distraction.

2. Start taking deep breaths, slowly and deeply.

3. Think of an image of what you would like to see in your life.

4. Make this image very clear. Brighten the colours, turn up the volume and feel that it is in your life now.

5. Now, visualise you are stepping into that image and you are aligning with it fully. Feel it within the whole level of your being.

6. Deepen your breathing and feel the feelings of already feeling how you want to feel once is manifested in your physical reality.

7. Smile as you see this image and radiate the positive energy for a few more seconds.

8. Slowly become aware of your body, of your surroundings, stretch a bit and in your own time open your eyes.

9. Take your time getting up.

10. Throughout the day, think of that beautiful image. Smile and feel good about it every time you remember it.

11. Trust and know it is on its way to you.

Don’t let excuses keep your dreams on hold

I believe if you want to make something happen you’ll find a way.  If not, you’ll find an excuse. This week’s blog is little coaching session from me and I hope you will find it inspiring. All our dreams come to us for a reason and it is our responsibility to bring them into this physical reality. Unfortunately, excuses often hold us back to do so. The human mind can come up with all sorts of crazy ways why we can’t do something and the dream you’ve been so excited about five minutes ago can instantly fade away. The truth is, it doesn’t have to be that way. Ask yourself: “Do I want to keep making excuses or do I want to push them aside and focus on what really matters to me?”

The choice is always yours

We all face obstacles, but there is a difference between how we all deal with them. Are you the kind of person who comes up with all sorts of excuses when you face a challenge because you are just too afraid to step out of the comfort zone? Or do you look at it as an opportunity for growth, an opportunity to learn something new which will enrich your life in some way? The choice is always yours. Be the one who doesn’t give up on their dream, no matter how hard it gets. Believe in yourself fully, and trust and know that even if you are not making progress as fast as you expected, you are on your way.

Become an action taker

Everything I have ever accomplished in life happened because I’m an action taker. I don’t hesitate, I don’t talk about it, instead, I do. When something is important to me, I make it happen. You are not going to get anywhere if you don’t take action. Become an action taker today.

Turn down the noise

Believe in yourself and turn down the noise of the world. There will be people who will tell you your dream is impossible, don’t listen to them. There will be doubts, there will be fears and there will be conflicting voices in your head. Don’t listen to them. Hold your vision clearly in your mind and trust the process of getting closer to it every day. Be aware of people who will tell you your dream is impossible. It only means it would be impossible for them, but it doesn’t have to be impossible for you too. Believe in yourself and turn down the noise. You can do this, because you’ve decided so.

3 ways to keep your day on a positive frequency

Are you currently feeling stressed, de-motivated or worked-up? Is there something going on in your life, which may be making you feel anxious or uneasy? If so, you are in the right place. This week’s blog post is a little follow-up to my last week’s blog, where I shared with you some tips that can assist you when you go through tough times.

You can read it here:

http://www.mysticbutterfly.co.uk/going-through-some-tough-times-right-now-read-this/

Today, I’m going to give you 3 ways how to stay on a positive frequency (as much as possible) when things don’t go according to plan or life gets a little stressful and hard.

1) Positive self-talk

The way you talk to yourself has a huge impact on how you feel. So, how do you talk to yourself on a daily basis? Is your internal dialogue positive or negative? If it’s negative, don’t judge yourself, just notice it, and become aware of it. Then, make a decision, that from now on, you are going to talk to yourself nicely. Always choose to compliment yourself for what you do well, and stop putting yourself down when you make a mistake. Be gentle with yourself and watch your energy shift.

2) Pausing and breathing

I can’t stress enough how important this is. I talk a lot about breathing slowly and deeply and there is a great reason for that. Most people are very stressed and anxious, even about things which don’t really matter or deserve so much of our energy. This brings tension and pain to one’s life on many levels (physical, mental, emotional, spiritual). Do yourself a favour and pause several times a day by taking a few, deep, cleansing breaths. Your body, mind and soul will thank you for it. Calm and deep breathing will create space in your physical body and the blocked channels of energy will start opening up again, so everything can flow freely and beautifully once again.

3) Do at least one thing a day for your future

Ask yourself: What can I do today to get me closer to my dream? What step can I take today to start creating a life that I desire? You know the answer to these questions. If it’s only 15 minutes you can find today, that’s absolutely fine. Invest it to your future by taking an active choice to focus on what you desire and what you are trying to create.

Going through some tough times right now? Read this

We all go through ups and downs, highs and lows in life. It is part of our physical experience here on Earth. When we go through a bad patch, we often want to reject how we feel and what we experience. This is understandable. But what we don’t always realise, there are often great lessons and miracles hidden in those challenging seasons of life. Please know, that as a cosmic being having a temporary human experience, you are never alone, and you are always being guided and protected. You have a guardian angel, spirit guides and many seen and unseen forces which are always working on your behalf. And of course, the physical world also offers you so much love, protection and guidance. There so many amazing people here, who are happy to help. All you have to do is ask. There is no shame in asking for help. We all need it sometimes, we can’t always do everything on our own. Read on, and find out some of my favourite tips that can assist you when you are going through tough times in life.

Trust and know that it will pass

Nothing lasts forever and that includes challenging times. Do the best you can at any given moment and have full faith that you will get through this. Sometimes you are blooming, another time you may go through some challenging lessons. Whatever the season, embrace it, and trust and know that all is well and life is unfolding as it should. You will get through it and a blessing will always be found in that lesson.

Breathe

Many of us forget to breathe properly. Especially when you go through tough times, you may feel stressed and your breathing gets shallow. This creates even more stress on our body and can bring anxiety into your life. I always say: When in doubt, take a deep breath. Pause several times a day and breathe deeply. Not only when you are going through challenges. Breath is a force of life, it’s a very powerful force. Use that force to your advantage and breathe slowly and deeply as much as possible. It is always possible.

Talk to someone

Being an introvert I really had to learn (the hard way) how to share my feelings with others. I had to learn how to ask for help when I needed it, not keeping everything to myself. When you share how you feel and what’s bothering you with others, a great weight will come off your shoulders. This is such a liberating feeling and the one that gives you so much freedom. And if you have no one to talk to, email me, I’ll be happy to help, if I can: jana@mysticbutterfly.co.uk

All the seen and unseen forces

There is so much guidance around you. There are many seen and unseen forces which are always guiding you and protecting you. There are the ones which lead us to notice signs, showing us synchronicities and bring miracles into our existence. There are angels and spirit guides which are helping you and leading you as you walk the Earth. Be open to their beautiful guidance and ask them for help when you need it. You, as a cosmic being, came to this planet with a free will, so you need to give your spiritual helpers the permission to help you. Say a prayer to them (in your own words), either silently or aloud, and trust that a sign will soon appear and it will guide you to your next step.

“Your hardest times often lead to the greatest moments of your life. Keep the faith. It will all be worth it in the end.”
