“People are often unreasonable and self-centred ~Forgive them anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives ~Be kind anyway. If you are honest, people may cheat on you ~Be honest anyway. If you find happiness, people may be jealous ~Be happy anyway. The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow ~Do good anyway. Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough ~Give your best anyway. For you see, in the end, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway” ~Mother Teresa
These powerful words by Mother Teresa are telling us to stay true to ourselves. They continuously inspire me, and today, I would like to share with you some of my thoughts related to this quotation.
Be kind anyway
I was recently sorting out an issue with one of the institutions I used to be a customer of. This particular issue had to be sorted in person, so one morning I walked into their office. When I came to the reception, it became clear to me, that the lady at the desk didn’t have a good day. She appeared a little cold, unhelpful and also slightly rude. The way she spoke to me made me feel a little upset, but I stayed true to myself and carried on with the conversation with a kind and understanding tone of voice. After exchanging a few sentences with her, I think she realised, that this kind of attitude won’t lead anywhere. I noticed her energy change. I stayed true to myself, and that was soon reflected back to me. The lesson that comes from this story, is to be kind anyway. I am not saying not to stand up for yourself when somebody is unpleasant to you, rude to you or has an attitude similar to the lady I described above. But what you can do, is still defend yourself by being kind and staying true to yourself. On that day, I chose to do just that, and in the end managed to finally sort out the issue, which was bothering me for some time.
Create anyway
One of my favourite creative activities is writing. Sharing my thoughts about the topics I care about and I strongly believe in, always brings so much happiness to my soul. I know, that not everyone reads my blogs, agrees with what I write about or is into spirituality and personal development. That’s okay. Writing makes me happy and I will continue creating those pieces anyway. And you? Do you keep doing what makes you happy despite other’s opinions or do you get easily discouraged by them? My suggestion? If it makes you happy, keep doing it.
Stay true to yourself anyway
As some of you know, I used to struggle with being true to myself and others. I wrote about this in my little eBook, The Art of Living in Your Truth. I thought, my truth was not good enough for this world. I often felt, I needed to pretend I was somebody who I was not, so I could feel liked and accepted. I was an attention and approval seeker. Huge lessons have been learned from all that. If you have an issue in this area, please check out my eBook. I believe it can inspire you. It’s currently free, and you can request it on this page: https://www.mysticbutterfly.co.uk/janas-book/
And finally…sing your song anyway
Keep singing your song, keep doing what you love and what makes you happy. Never give up on your dreams, no matter how long they may take you to accomplish. Your dreams came to you for a reason, so you also have to protect them. Never let anyone take them away from you. Keep doing what you love, keep taking daily action towards your desires and believe in yourself. Keep singing your unique song, my friend.
