How yoga changed my life

Hello friends,

I was thinking for a while what today’s blog should be about, and as the thoughts were raising through my mind, it got me. I am going to write about change. I am going to write about how Yoga practice changed my life. I believe when you make certain adjustment to your lifestyle, your life can experience a great shift. Sometimes what we resist the most in our lives, that is what we need the most. That’s how I got to Yoga.

Before started practicing Yoga, I was already on a transformational and spiritual journey, practicing meditation almost every day, I was trying to eat health- fully as much as possible and exercise was my daily routine too. I was feeling healthy and energized most of the time, but I could energetically feel there was something missing and I wasn’t sure whether it was in my diet, in my relationships, at work etc. I started searching, but couldn’t find an answer.

What’s brilliant about the Universe and about your Soul? They always know what’s best for you, and if you listen to them, they will direct you on the right path. That’s how it happened for me. I was literally led to Yoga by signs.

Every time I was browsing through the Cyber space, pictures with Yoga postures, articles about Yoga, videos about Yoga, seeing people doing Yoga in the park, listening to my favourite spiritual teachers talking about how Yoga changed their lives forever. The signs were everywhere. The more I avoided it, the more signs were getting back. I thought, I already have my exercise routine, and I should just stick to it.

One day woke up and then it was again- Yoga, Yoga, Yoga, but today I felt somehow different. Today I have decided to listen to the signs. I sat in meditation and asked my inner voice to speak up to tell me what are all of these Yoga signs about. The answer I got back was loud and clear- “Don’t resist the signs and you’ll see a change in your life!” I listened.

I began a new exploring and transformational journey. I started with some very easy postures, with simple breathing techniques, most of them I was already using in my meditations. I always played some beautiful soothing music in the background to deepen my experience. I allowed my inner voice and this beautiful practice to lead me exactly were I needed to go. I wasn’t forcing anything, I wasn’t pushing anything away. All I did was going with the flow and getting more and more comfortable.

After few months of my practice I began to see significant changes. The postures which used to look impossible to master became my favourite, my back problems faded away, my mind got calmer and clearer, I created healthier approach towards eating, which before was more like obsession to eat healthy. I could focus more on achieving my goals, my spiritual connection deepened, and my desire to help others got stronger.

The lesson from this experience is to pay attention to the signs from the Universe and to trust your Soul. They know the way.
I am so grateful I found my way to Yoga. I am still a beginner and have so much to learn, but I am very committed to take my practice further. The Mind, Body and Spirit connection is amazing.
